DNV has compared the Norwegian and the U.S. Gulf of Mexico offshore drilling regulatory regimes and regulations for drilling with Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODUs). The study identified several similarities, but overall there are fundamental differences between the two countries’ regulations. It has been made on behalf of Norwegian Oil Industry Association (Norwegian Oil and Gas Associatio) and Norwegian Clean Seas Organisation for Operating Companies (NOFO).
