Sharing to be better #6, Well control incident – pulling tie-back string

The incident highlights the importance of understanding the risk related to conducting work on old wells, work over and P&A; with respect to their original design. Further, it is important to ensure that well control preparedness and relevant drills

The incident was published June 2012. Presentation of the incident is attached both in Norwegian and English.

The key message is to focus on what can be learnt from such events. It is hoped that sharing of such incidents will be helpful in our efforts to avoid or reduce the likelihood and severity of well incidents. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated by the task force.
