Pay talks start for oil service employees

Negotiations on collective pay agreements for some 6 000 employees in the Norwegian oil service sector are now under way.

Norwegian Oil and Gas is negotiating the identically worded oil service and well service settlements with the Norwegian Union of Industry and Energy Workers (IE) and the Norwegian Union of Energy Workers (Safe) respectively. These talks will take place on Wednesday and Thursday 11-12 May.

“A number of the companies involved in the oil service sector are in a challenging position, despite high oil and gas prices,” says Elisabeth Brattebø Fenne, director of organisation and employer policy and lead negotiator at Norwegian Oil and Gas.

“It’s therefore important that these settlements are reached within the framework set by the lead sector in order to safeguard future jobs and competitiveness. And it’s also important that the parties recognise that we’re negotiating on pay and working conditions for the time to come.”

The roughly 6  000 employees covered by the two oil service agreements under negotiation work for the following supplier companies.

Altus Intervention AS, Aker Solutions AS, avd Ågotnes, Baker Hughes Norge, Halliburton AS, Oceaneering AS, KCA Deutag Drilling Norge AS, Schlumberger Norge AS, Subsea 7 Norway, Weatherford Norge AS, Vetco Gray Scandinavia, Altus Intervention (Technologies) AS, Benor, Cameron Norge AS, Enhanced Drilling AS, Expro Norway AS, Franks International, Intertek West Lab, IOS Tubular Management, Landmark Graphics, Nosefo Tau, Nosefo Bergen, Oceaneering Asset Integrity, Petrotech AS, PSW Technology, RelyOn Nutec Norway AS, Ramco Norway AS, ResQ, Soiltech Offshore Services AS, Stratum Reservoir (Norway) AS, Speedcast Norway AS, TWMA Norge and Welltec.
