Geodata Trade

A resource for oil companies, which ensures that all data owners get as much profit as possible from the exchanges/purchases they take part in.

The goal of Geodata Trade is to ensure the best possible flow of data between all oil companies on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, through centralized administration of the data exchange process.

Guidelines

The agreement on the use of an exchange operator is defined in the cooperation agreement (JOA), article 26. In accordance with this, a contract has been created between the individual extraction permit and the exchange operator. The License Management Committee (MC) selects the exchange operator at the first MC meeting. There can only be one exchange operator for the license. The switching operator must be notified as soon as possible.

The Norwegian Oil Companies' Scout Group (NOSG)

The aim of NOSG is to exchange information on geodata in order to streamline the data exchange between the companies and to carry out specific projects within this area of cooperation. NOSG is open to participation for oil companies that are members of Offshore Norge.
