Agree with Styrke, SAFE goes on strike

After five hours of overtime, an agreement was reached between Offshore Norway and Styrke. SAFE has chosen to take industrial action.

Mediation took place this weekend (Saturday and Sunday) between Offshore Norge and The trade union Styrke on the Oil Service Agreement, and with The Norwegian Union of Energy Workers (SAFE) on the Well Service Agreement. The two unions have identical agreements.

– The mediation was demanding, and we are therefore pleased that we reached an agreement with Styrke. We are disappointed that no agreement was reached with SAFE, says Elisabeth Brattebø Fenne, chief negotiator at Offshore Norge.

SAFE has notified that 154 members will be called out on strike in the following companies: SLB, DOF Subsea, Halliburton, Weatherford, Tios and DeepOcean.

SAFE has also announced a further escalation of the strike from Thursday 18 June involving an additional 224 members employed at SLB, Cactus, Subsea 7, Weatherford, DeepOcean, Vetco Gray Scandinavia and Baker Hughes.

In line with the lead sector model

For Styrke’s members, the result is as follows:

The rates in the salary grid will be increased by NOK 47.000 effective from 1 June 2026, including offshore compensation and holiday pay. The rates in the salary grid will be further increased by NOK 5.000 effective from 1 January 2027, including offshore compensation and holiday pay.

The shift/night allowance will be increased from NOK 109 to NOK 116,50 from 1 June 2026, while the public holiday compensation will be increased from NOK 2.350 to NOK 2.400. Minimum wage rates will also be increased. In addition, various technical changes will be made to the agreements.

The settlement is in line with the framework agreed in the lead sector  model earlier this spring.

The mediator was Carl Petter Martinsen.
