Mark Wildon is Offshore Norge's new Director of Operations and Digital Interaction

Wildon arrives from the position of Vice President Asset Management at Shell International.

Mark Wildon has been appointed as the new Director of Operations and Digital Collaboration at Offshore Norge, and will take up the position on 9 November.  Wildon has over 30 years of global experience in the oil and gas industry at Shell, with experience in HSE, engineering, maintenance, operations, asset management and projects. Wildon has held two directorships – as chairman of the board of Shell Norway and as a board member of the industry association IOGP.

– With Wildon, Offshore Norway gets a leader with extensive experience from the industry both in Norway and globally and who has extensive expertise in core areas that the department coordinates, says CEO Hildegunn T Blindheim. 

Blindheim emphasises that with the geopolitical situation, Wildon's experience with risk management and prevention of major accidents is particularly . Most discoveries on the Norwegian continental shelf are smaller than before, and we and our member companies will benefit greatly from Wildon's broad experience in standardisation, management systems and digital transformation.

– I look forward to embarking on this important work together with the member companies in Offshore Norway. I want to contribute to strengthening safe, efficient and future-oriented operations on the Norwegian continental shelf, and at the same time lift industry interaction through targeted digitalisation. This can help the industry to remain the world's safest and most competitive supplier of energy to Europe in the decades to come, Wildon concludes.
