This is an updated version of the report Guidance on calculating blowout rates and duration for use in environmental risk analysis (2007). Blowouts in petroleum constitute the most important incidents in environmental and emergency preparedness analyses.
An amendment which describes harmonised methodology for exploration wells in more detail than the main guidance, has also been prepared.
