Mediation in the oil services sector has commenced

Mediation concerning the oil service and well service agreements is taking place this weekend, June 13–14.

The mediation on the oil service and well service agreements is now underway with the National Mediator in Oslo. Two days have been set aside for the negotiations. The mediator is Carl Petter Martinsen.

“We have already presented an offer of NOK 42,000 in addition to technical adjustments, which is in line with lead sector settlement. We look forward to constructive negotiations and hope to reach a solution through mediation,” says Elisabeth Brattebø Fenne, Director of Organisation and Labour Relations and chief negotiator at Offshore Norge.

239 strike notices issued
If the parties fail to reach agreement during mediation, the union Styrke has announced that 77 members will be taken out in a potential initial strike. The strike notice also includes 8 members covered by direct agreements with the union within the same agreement areas.

These employees work at Welltec Oilfield Services Norway AS, IKM Subsea AS, Halliburton AS, SLB, Baker Hughes Norge AS Offshore Division, Altus Intervention AS, Oceaneering AS, Oceaneering Asset Integrity AS Straume Division, Subsea 7 Norway AS Kanalsletta Stavanger Division, Weatherford Norge AS headquarters, and Weatherford Offshore.

SAFE has announced that 154 members will be taken out in the following companies: SLB, DOF Subsea, Halliburton, Weatherford, Tios, and DeepOcean.

Around 7,200 employees are covered by the two oil service agreements under negotiation. These employees work in the following supplier companies:
